There is no reason to use flaphone callme subsystem now, because you will have forwarding to SIP and to landlines/mobiles in Zingaya Free plan in addition to Skype forwarding. Zingaya offers better calls quality and additional features. In Free plan your widget still has only 1 line available, for more lines - check Standard, Advanced or Custom plans.
CallMe-widgets concept was a very good idea, we received a lot of feedback and decided that this subsystem can be detached and form the whole new service. All I can say now - this service is about to launch and it will have a lot of new great features our users asked us for. We also worked on technology a lot and you’ll see UDP-transport support, echo-cancellation and many other interesting features in it.
First of all, it was fully rewritten without usage of Flex framework and now size of the widget is only 100Kb (compare with 383Kb of the previous version). Some bugs were fixed and new microphone selection panel was added, you can see it on the image:
In the near future we are going to add some new features to solve echo problem (because Adobe isn’t going to solve it in player itself).
CallMe widget was updated, we added some useful features. Now you can’t make a call without microphone, widget is using some smart system to check if you have microphone and if it works. If there is no signal coming from microphone it will show you the message:
Now every flaphone user can make a call from flaphone to skype. You need to enter sip:skypeusername@skype (Example - you need to call skype user with username james - it will be sip:james@skype) while none(global) account selected for outgoing SIP calls and press the call button, skype user with skype_username will see incoming call from Flaphone. You can also use this feature for your CallMe widgets in the same way. We are testing this feature, so we need to have your feedback.
P.S. It will work if you are calling to Skype user who allows to receive incoming calls from skype users that aren’t in contact-list
We have finished flashphone 2 as we promised, but we renamed it to flaphone and moved to www.flaphone.com domain, all user data was moved to new service as well, so all flashphone.ru users and their accounts, including SIP accounts moved to flaphone.com, they can login and continue using our service. All new users have to pass registration procedure. We’ve spent a lot of time trying to make service more convenient and to add features our users were asking us for… we couldn’t add all features they asked but we added a lot. Now users can use contact list, can add/edit/remove SIP accounts right in flash app, can check their callhistory, can send and receive instant messages to each other and to/from SIP because flaphone supports SIP IM, flapone supports new flash player 10 feature - Speex audio codec, it supports h263/h263+/h264 codecs for SIP video calls, it supports fullscreen video chat, it supports presence - now you can see if your buddies are online, we added convenient select of SIP account for call (removed hard for most users routing system), we’ve improved CallMe widget - now you can enable keypad to send DTMF via it and many other things… I think it’s better to check everything by yourselves - welcome http://www.flaphone.com
Flashphone is web-based SIP softphone, gtalk2voip is very interesting internet service allows users to:
Calling SIP phones and SIP services.
Receiving calls to your IM from any SIP phone.
with MSN, gtalk and Yahoo messengers. Both services are free. We’ve made some test calls and found it working very well. For example, if someone is online in Gtalk and you want to call him from flashphone you just need to enter SIP URI like sip:google_username@gtalk2voip.com and gtalk user will see incoming call. You also can easily call to flashphone from gtalk via gtalk2voip, add contact like [flashphone_login]_at_flashphone.ru@gtalk2voip.com and call to this contact, flashphone will ring if user online. If you remember our cool feature - CallMe widget, you can setup your widget to call directly your gtalk messenger if enter appropriate SIP URI as number to call.
P.S. We will continue our work with gtalk2voip to find new interesting features.
You had to send us request via email to get your widget, you couldn’t change it’s look and feel, you couldn’t change SIP URI or number by yourself, but now everything changed. Just login to Flashphone and you’ll see a new button “CALLME widget”
After click on the button you’ll see CallMe widget settings panel
Let me describe all sections of the settings panel:
Preview - it’s just a visual preview of your callme widget, you can switch between 3 states used to show different connection state.
Settings - this section is used to customize button’s label for different states and Number or SIP URI your widget will call to (this data is stored on server). If you are entering Number, be sure that you’ve added your SIP provider account in Account Manager, if you want your widget to call directly to flashphone when you are logged in, just enter your login in that field. Don’t forget to click on “Save” button to store this settings on server. “Generate embed code button” can be used when you’ve already set all settings for your widget, you’ll see popup window with widget’s HTML code (like in youtube).
Widget settings, Button attributes, Connecting label - visual settings for different elements of callme widget. This settings are stored in flash player local cache to be restored after you open CallMe widget settings next time and will be sent to embed code generator when you are ready to get your HTML code.
CallMe - free flashphone’s feature. Every flashphone user can request widget’s html code (like youtube movie embed code), for that you need to send email to info@flashphone.ru with your flashphone login and SIP URI or phone number for widget to call. In case of phone number you need to add SIP provider account in Account Manager for landing your calls to PSTN. You can see CallMe example which calls to freeworlddialup echo service (sip:613@fwd.pulver.com):
