Vote for Acoustic Echo Cancellation (AEC) support for Flash player 10 on Adobe jira site
As we’ve already written flash player doesn’t support AEC now and even in flash player 10 beta we couldn’t find AEC support. That means that we have to use headset to remove echo problem, but if Adobe implements AEC for flash player we’ll be able to use flash real-time audio communications with loudspeakers. AEC is a very big advantage for VoIP services based on flash technology. Let’s vote for AEC support in Flash Player 10 release version! I’m also trying to push this issue with Adobe but not sure how to get their attention.
What makes me quite frustrated is that Acrobat Connect Pro (http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobatconnectpro/) supports this via a modified version of Flash Player that independent developers like us can’t use. (it requires code signing with Adobes OpenSSL key.)
I was slightly frustrated thinking that they haven’t gotten around to it yet but now I’m really frustrated knowing they have it, and have enabled it for their own products but aren’t letting flash developers have access to it.
