What is flashphone? Detailed service description. Part 2.
In part 1 we’ve written about requirements to use flashphone, how to make free calls to Russia Moscow, St. Petersburg and how to make SIP calls. But it’s understood that users want to make calls to any destinations: to diffrent countries, cities, mobile phones. We will describe how to do that in this article.
So, what do we need to make calls using flashphone to different destinations and save money, because VoIP is cheaper that standart telephony. First of all, you need to find SIP telephony provider with advantageous rates to required destinations. Number of SIP providers is growing constantly. You can search in Google to find lists of SIP providers with comparsion of their rates and free offers
Some companies, like terrasip or truphone, offers free calls to many destinations in the world. Anyway users are free to select…
After you found SIP provider you need to pass registration procedure on thier site. As the result of registration you’ll get SIP proxy server address, login (username) and password, also you can get additional info like STUN server address, but STUN server isn’t required when you make calls via flashphone. To add your SIP provider account for making calls using flashphone you need to visit Account Manager

You’ll get certificate warning message, but nevermind.. just press agree/continue/next - depends on your browser. After that you’ll see auth window where you need to enter login and password, selected while registering on flashphone. Don’t try to enter login and password you’ve received from SIP provider

After you passed auth you will see menu with the following items: Profile, Voip Accounts and Sign our. In Profile section you can change wrong data entered while registering flashphone user. What we need is a Voip Accounts section, select it. You will see empty table (if you haven’t added any SIP providers before), click Add
button. Dropdown list will appear, where you can select predifened providers presets or custom. We need to select custom, because we want to use flashphone with any SIP provider
Following fields are available to fill:
Name - you can enter any name, just info field.
Prefixes - list of destinations codes separated by comma you want to call using this provider. For example, you want to pass calls to USA and Russia via this provider then you enter: 1, 7 or you want pass only calls to Russia, Moscow using this provider then you enter: 7459, 7499. Important: if you haven’t entered prefixes - this account will be used for all calls.
Appended prefix - this value always will be put before number you entered while making call using this account. For example, if you enter there 00 then call will go to 00enterednumber. Appended prefix is needed only for some providers who requires to pass numbers in a special format with some prefix, in the case it’s convenient to enter it once in account manager, otherwise you’ll need to enter it for every call.
Sip Proxy - SIP proxy address you’ve received from SIP provider after registration, it’s allowed to add port number in it, like domain:port
Username - username (login), received from provider after registration
Password - password, received from provider after registration
Registration -if checked allows to receive incoming calls using providers account.
After all fields are filled correctly click Add button, you’ll see new account in Voip account tables. Yeah! Now login into flashphone application and try to make call to needed destination, if you are connected - you made everything right, if no - check all settings again. If you are sure that everything was filled correctly, but you still got problems with your calls - write to info@flashphone.ru , technical support will try to help you figure out the problem. In the next part we will write about incoming calls in detail.
